Paul Newman 1925-2008

It has taken me a few days to digest the passing of Paul Newman. Though I am a huge fan of his work as an actor, he was so much more. Aside from the acting, sense of humor and philanthropy, two things always come to mind when I think of Paul Newman. First, his marriage to Joanne Woodward. The commitment, the joy, the love *sigh*. Second, his love of race cars. When folks say the name Paul Newman, my mental image is of the man easing his gorgeous frame out of a race car. A life well lived, thanks Paul.

I am always saddened when an actor of Paul's generation passes,I too haven't completely digested it.He once said "if you don't have enemies you don't have character" but he was wrong. He was beloved and a hell of a character.

Dianna~He truly was. I especially enjoyed David Letterman's tribute Monday night. I didn't realize they were friends. He had some great stories.

This was just sad when Newman passed. Besides being a great actor, I always enjoyed the fact that he was a private guy and had more class than most. He was also pretty damn funny when you got to know him (according to a lot of tributes from friends that I've read).

2D~Newman was certainly one class act. It is so clear when you hear and read those close to him talk and write about him. Though his passing is sad, I think he is a wonderful role model of a way to live a life. Be productive, do a good job, give back, love and have a sense of humor.
