Then She Found Me

The Second Monday Series of the Newport Film Festival has been a lot of fun. Last night they screened the new film, from Helen Hunt, titled Then She Found Me. A story of love, betrayal, family, adoption and life, told with love and humor. Well written and well acted, with an amazing cast. The film is based on a novel by Elinor Lipman, who conducted an informative, entertaining Q&A after the film. Wonderful film that's worth a look.

I saw both Helen and Matthew on Letterman recently talking about this film. It's nice to see actors promoting a project they genuinely believe in and aren't just trying to sell tickets to.It's one I want to see.

Agreed. I really enjoyed this film and thought it was smart and touching not to mention that it portrayed the lead as more than just a "lost" woman.

Dianna~I saw those interviews as well, and they really spoke to the tone of the film. It was a heartfelt piece that I think you'd like.

Marina~You're right, the characters in this film were more than stereotypes. Refreshing....

I saw "Then She Found Me," really dug it, and assumed it would be a critics' darling. Not so ... mediocre reviews at best. I found it smart, captivating and real and give kudos to Hunt for reigning in the Divine Miss M. enough to let her radiate a great performance.

Toto~I think this could be a real crowd pleaser. If not in the theater, at least in DVD. The performances were great, cool film.
