Top 5 of 2006

I need to see a few more films from 2006 before I make my Best of 2006 Top 10 list. I have 5 minutes on Friday mornings on 92ProFM, Giovanni & Kim in the Morning Show, reporting the Friday Flick Picks. For the first Friday of 2007, I commited to my Top 5 of 2006. I thought I'd post them here for the listeners:
1. Little Miss Sunshine
2. The Departed
3. Neil Young : Heart of Gold
4. The Queen
5. Babel

I'll have the rest in a few weeks, my Top 10 usually ends up around 20, we'll see how I do!!

So far, Little Miss Sunshine and Departed are good choices. I haven't seen the others yet, but I definately want to see Bable and the Queen. Little Miss Sunshine, I walked out of the theater just thinking the movie was ok, but I thought about it on the way home, and there were certain scenes that ended up making me liking the movie more and more. Like you, I've been pushing everyone to see Little Miss Sunshine. The Departed was great too. There was times my date and I would try to figure out who was on what side, but the way that they did the movie, it wasn't hard to follow. Usually those types of movies where they have you thinking, they're hard to follow. This one left you guessing until the end, but was easy enough to follow. I can't wait to see the rest of your "top 10." 2006 was my year for movies, I saw a lot of new movies and started catching up with the older movies and the classics as well.

Glad you had a good movie year Jami, I'll post my Top 10 soon. Actually, it will probably be more than 10, but I'll try to narrow it down. This was a good year in film.
