I've declared a new contest, "Recommend a Great Film"!!!! I take film recommendations from friends and family all the time. On the whole, I enjoy them. Films like Dick, The Croupier, Godfather 2 and Shall We Dance? (Japanese version), are all films I really enjoyed, and would not have seen, were they not recommended to me. Recently, I have encouraged my kids to recommend films for me, and they do not disappoint. First Melanie and Joe encouraged me to see Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle. I was skeptical, but loved it!! Funny as hell and a great social commentary. Then Liza recommended Employee of the Month (a Sundance 2004 film) outstanding black comedy, fabulous twists and turns, be sure to sit through the credits for the real ending, hehe!!!!

Mom, did you ever see the Last Supper? It's a political conversation-starter, but also a crime story and a kind of suspense comedy.
