The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009)

I had outpatient surgery on Friday, and have been on the couch for 2 days. This morning I felt much better, and decided I needed to get out. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo arrived in RI this weekend and I was excited to see it. I got in the car, headed for the Avon Cinema and was treated to a fine film. This Swedish film is a thriller with a heroine who is tough, tech savvy, vulnerable, vengeful, scary and damaged. The story is intense, violent, shocking, heartfelt and satisfying. A murder mystery with a sadistic twist, that still has a heart. Beautifully shot, perfectly paced, stylishly structured. This was 2 1/2 hours well spent in my recovery. Fantastic film for me.
